Meet the Alonso & Hernandez Family

Lola's Beach Cantina was established in 2022 by one family with two names, both originating from Jalisco, Mexico. On the Alonso side, we have Aunt "Tia" Leticia, Uncle "Tio" Ernesto, Cousin Ernesto and Cousin Rickey. On the Hernandez side, we have Mario Hernandez Jr. and Alex Hernandez. Our Journey Begins

Lola's Beach Cantina was founded in 2022 by Alex Hernandez and his aunt, “Tia” Leticia Alonso. Their family roots stem from the town of Degollado, Jalisco, Mexico. Alex and Leticia had a vision of bringing a modern, upscale Mexican restaurant to the up-and-coming Ocean View Community. They wanted to introduce a unique experience by combining vibrant, modern decor with excellent, authentic family recipes, accompanied by handcrafted cocktails.

To help make their vision a reality, they solicited the help of Leticia’s niece, Fabiola Sweis. Fabiola is an interior designer and principal owner of Folklore Spaces based out of Phoenix, Arizona. Fabiola left no stone unturned, creating the vibrant, upscale interior that you see today as you enter the front doors.

Alex and Leticia then partnered up with Alex’s brother, Mario Hernandez, from Columbus, Ohio. Mario serves to your table over 20 years of restaurant and bar experience, delivering those mouth-watering margaritas and cocktails that everyone loves.
